We are currently competing sports stars, retired athletes and a collection of sporting enthusiasts, who enjoy writing while still playing and competing, or are trying to finance their Olympic dream.

Any observer of sporting events will have an armchair view, we want to tell the story of the real sports discipline and culture needed to compete professionally, succeed and win. We want to share what it means to be an athlete, to suffer that crushing defeat when so close to glory. To collectively bask in the glory of our success when our writers compete at the world championships.

What is a sports star?

While the technical term is a celebrated sportsperson, we don’t define that as famous here. We believe the many competing athletes who support their careers through normal jobs equally deserve the title.

An athlete is a person who is trained or skilled in sports requiring determination to win, physical strength, agility, and stamina.

Ciaran Clarke

Irish-born Ciaran is an avid Liverpool FC fan. He wears red-tinted glasses and still talks about Glenn Hysen to anyone who will listen.

Kieran

Kieran Fuller

A passionate runner, film watcher, darts thrower and football nerd. With the occasional bike ride, long drive, swim, walk and musical gig thrown in for good measure.

Ana

Anastasia-Alexandra Nenova

Born and raised in South Africa, Alex is a Bulgarian writer and fighter. When she isn't writing, she's busy training or competing in Judo for South Africa. She's passionate about Judo where she is a 2nd Dan, other martial arts and fitness overall. Her dream is to qualify for the Olympic Games in Judo, and she's doing her best to turn that dream into reality.

Chloe is an aspiring sports writer with a main focus on the Premier League and Champions League.

Kob

Kobla Kugbega

Kob is a keen lover of most sports including especially the beautiful game of football, boxing and basketball. He mainly supports Arsenal (if they don’t ruin his weekends).

Mauricio Pérez

Mauricio Perez had a minor professional football career in his native Colombia, on the books of Deportivo Cali and Millonarios. He's now happily retired and lives in Florida and plays Golf to stay active.
